Right now, we are looking for a Senior UX Designer – AI / Workflow Building (m/f/d) to join our team at KNIME in Berlin or Konstanz.*
Who you are
You’re a Senior UX Designer with 5+ years of experience designing complex, technical interfaces. But more importantly, you know how to work smart, you actively use AI tools to speed up prototyping, generate ideas, or automate repetitive tasks. You're not just aware of AI, you’re already integrating it into your daily workflow.
Your portfolio shows depth in usability, systems thinking, and real problem-solving, not just visual polish. You’re quick to iterate, precise in your details, and clear when explaining trade-offs and design decisions.
You collaborate well with engineers and PMs, balancing user needs with technical constraints. You’ve worked in agile teams, maybe dabbled in code, and you're at home in fast-paced environments where things evolve quickly. You’ve worked in agile teams, coded a little, and designed enterprise products.
That's the job
You’ll design user experiences that seamlessly connect AI capabilities with visual workflow building, making it easier and faster for users to create, configure, and debug workflows. Whether it’s through predictive node suggestions, prompt-based interactions, or new approaches to building workflows, you’ll help bring smart, assistive features directly into the hands of users.
You’ll shape the core editing experience in KNIME, across workflows, data apps, tools, and components, with a focus on clarity, efficiency, and scalability. You’ll translate both technical constraints and user needs into thoughtful design solutions, prototype them quickly, and refine through hands-on testing and real-world feedback.
You’ll collaborate closely with developers, and product managers to shape AI-powered features that are technically feasible, easy to use, and aligned with how we do things.
